Basic Training - CBT
All new provisional licence holders are required by law to complete a course in basic skills (Compulsory Basic Training or CBT) before going out on to the road.
The Environment Department is the responsible political body, and the course is provided under a service level agreement by the Guernsey Motorcycle Training Scheme LBG (GMTS).
Courses are held every weekend at Beaucamp School and a place may be reserved by telephoning the GMTS answering service on 257679.
The course is of six hours duration, typically taking place over Saturday and Sunday mornings and includes an introduction to basic machine control, manoeuvring, the system of motorcycle control, and an on the road assessment.
For applicants with recent relevant experience then a shorter course may be available - again telephone the answering service on 257679.
